The following base were used by the VRC-50: NAF Atsugi, Japan: was probably the most visited det site for the Foo Dogs. Supporting the USS Midway and later the USS Constellation.
NAF Kadena, Okinawa: Yet another location for C-2A dets supporting carrier battle groups.
Carl Vinson deployed to the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans (13 October 1984–24 May 1985). Aircraft No. 425 (BuNo 152789), a Grumman C-2A Greyhound from Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 50, and an EA-3B of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 1 Detachment Charlie, also later embarked with CVW-15. Logistics sailors leapfrogged ahead of the ship to Pearl Harbor, Hi., and then to Guam and the Philippines. Utilizing the latter as a base of operations, they also sent detachments to various Japanese facilities and to Diego Garcia.
Different C-2A Tails of the VRC-50. At the present time I don't know which one was used in Vietnam or in Kuwait. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
